Our Story
When I first opened the doors to Aqua Life, we were a small 60-square-metre shop with a handful of tanks and a pretty simple goal: to create a place for people who genuinely loved aquatics.
Back then, it was mostly just me, the tanks, and a lot of time spent learning, helping customers and talking about fish. I’ve always believed that keeping fish is about more than just having an aquarium at home. There’s something special about creating a little underwater world and watching it come to life.
As the years went on, the shop slowly grew. We added more tanks, more species and, along the way, a lot more knowledge. Eventually, we moved into a much larger store and started bringing in birds, reptiles, small mammals and invertebrates as well.
What started as a small aquarium shop has grown into Aqua Life Pet & Aquarium, and honestly, I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.
But the business has never been about one person.
I’ve been very fortunate to have some fantastic people work alongside me over the years. Our team shares the same passion for animals and takes pride in helping customers make the right choices for their pets. That matters to me. I’d much rather have someone walk out of the store with the right product for their animal than simply sell them something they don’t need.
That approach has helped us build relationships with customers who have been coming to Aqua Life for years. Some have been with us since those early days in the little shop, and seeing those familiar faces still coming through the doors is one of the things I value most about the business.
Today, Aqua Life is much more than an aquarium shop. We’re a place where pet owners can come in, ask questions, have a chat, get some honest advice and find what they need to look after their animals properly.
Of course, things have changed a lot since we first opened, but the important things haven’t changed.
We still believe in working hard, being honest with our customers, treating people fairly and, most importantly, putting the welfare of animals first.
